Editorial guidelines

  • Editors do not make unqualified judgemental statements. Instead, we attribute and cite (and place in context).

WRONG

RIGHT

  • Velikovsky was wrong.
  • Phil Plait wrote: "Velikovsky was wrong, as were the scientists at the time." Philip C. Plait, Bad Astronomy
  • Velikovsky was right.
  • Velikovsky proves catastrophism has taken place.
  • Einstein wrote to Velikovsky about Worlds in Collision, "There is much of interest in the book which proves that in fact catastrophes have taken place which must be attributed to extraterrestrial causes", Albert Einstein, "Letter to Velikovsky", July 8, 1946
  • Scientists have disproven Velikovskian catastrophes between Venus and Earth.
  • In a letter to Velikovsky, Einstein wrote, "However it is evident to every sensible physicist that these catastrophes can have nothing to do with the planet Venus and that also the direction of the inclination of the terrestrial axis towards the ecliptic could not have undergone a considerable change without the total destruction of the entire earth’s crust. Citing / references

  • To add a reference to an article, use the <ref> tags. eg.: "It is red", wrote John Doe.<ref>John Doe, "Article title", (year) ''Publication name'', page number</ref>
  • To specify the location of all references, add the <references/> tag.

Notifications

  • Click the "Watch" tab (above, left) to monitor an article for changes. Click "My Watchlist" (above, right) to view recent changes.
  • To be emailed of changes to watched articles, click "My Preferences" (top, right) and select the appropriate email options from the User profile tab.

Creating a new article

Participants can not create, nor edit main articles pages. To suggest an article:

Create a new discussion page

  • In the search box, enter: Talk:newpage name and press Go (where "newpage name" is substituted with the suggested name of the article)
  • Create and edit the new discussion page
  • Hopefully, other Participants and Editors will be monitoring the site for Recent discussions

Draft a new page

To create a draft article for consideration:

  • In the search box, enter: Talk:newpage name/draft and press Go. The /draft suffix will create a subpage.
  • Create and edit the new draft page
